Base Station v3.0: SIM-Card replacement

This article explains safe SIM card replacement and what to expect during modem reconnection.

Replacing the factory-installed SIM card is not recommended unless it has been thoroughly confirmed that the SIM card cannot achieve adequate connectivity in your area.

Before replacing the SIM card, consult your distributor since changes to the Base Station settings are required.

To proceed, disconnect the power supply, remove the Base Station cover, and follow the instructions below:

  1. Ask your distributor to update the APN settings before inserting the new SIM card.
  2. With the unit powered off, open the Base Station.
  3. Remove the cover of the Base Station.
  4. Locate the SIM card slot and gently press on the old SIM card with a small screwdriver until you hear a "click" and the SIM card pops out.
  5. Insert the new SIM card as shown in the accompanying image, pressing it in gently with the screwdriver until you hear another "click."
  6. Restore power following the owner's manual instructions.

Insert the SIM card into the slot as shown in the above image, making sure it is fully inserted until you hear a mechanical click. After restoring power, it may take several hours for the modem to reconnect to the server. During this time, the RTK signal will not be available.
