FIELD SETUP 2/2 : field settings

Field Settings - Field settings advanced - Dead beds

Once you have set up the field following this guide Field setup 1/2: how to create a field, it's time to look at the operative settings.

3.3 - FIELD SETTINGS

  • NO. HEADLANDS
decide how many times the robot would operate following the perimeter of the field.
This depends on how much space you want to leave between the border of the field and the passes (for example to leave enough space to the harvesting machines to turn in the headlands)

See the images below to see some practical examples:
No. headlands: 6 No. headlands: 2 No. headlands: 1
  • SEED VALVE
This settings is provided to you by FarmDroid in the seed test certification.
    • Seed valve ON: the seed valve will automatically open and close, to achieve the highest seeding accuracy. You should use this setting when you are seeding in portions (e.g. inter-row distance above 3-4 cm)
    • Seed valve OFF: the seed valve will always be open. This settings should be used only for very high density seeding (e.g. inter-row distance of 2-3 cm)

  • DISTANCE BETWEEN THE SEEDS
Distance in centimetres between the seeds on the same row.

NOTE 😀👍
Please mind that the minimum distance between seeds to allow INTER-ROW weeding is 10 centimetres.

  • SOWING PATTERN
You can adjust the sowing pattern based on the crop you want to sow

3.3 - FIELD SETTINGS ADVANCED

  • PASS NO. AT DIRECTION FROM 1 TO (REFERENCE CORNER POINT)
Decide if the direction of the first pass should be:
    • ODD - away from corner point 1 (standard setting)
    • EVEN - towards corner point 1

    Example in the images below:
    - The field below has 4 corner points
    - The reference line is CP1-CP2
    - The robot is starting from CP1

ODD

EVEN

On the first pass, the robot is doing moving away from corner point 1

The robot first would drive over the headland to corner point 2, then turn and do pass 1 driving towards corner point 1

  • HEADLAND SEEDING DIRECTION
Decide in which direction is moving the robot, when operating in the headland:
    • POSITIVE - the robot is moving to the next corner point in ASCENDING order
    • NEGATIVE - the robot is moving to the next corner point in DESCENDING order
See the image below for further clarifications

POSITIVE

NEGATIVE

3.3.1 - DEAD BED

  • DEAD BED
Here you can turn ON or OFF the dead beds in the field

  • DEAD BED WIDTH [m]
Insert the width of a SINGLE dead bed

  • ENTER PASS NO. BEFORE DEAD BED
You can create up to 40 dead bed per each field.
In this grid, just write the number of the pass BEFORE the dead bed. To disable a specific dead bed, insert "999"

Enter pass no. before dead bed
