MOTOR OVERLOAD: troubleshooting

Introduction - Thresholds

The FD20 software is built to prevent the motors from failing due to excessive load. Once one or both motors are stressed, the "motor overload" alarm will appear in the HMI and the robot will stop.

NOTE 👇

The motor overload command will override any command that sets the speed of the FD20

Thresholds

The main information to understand if one or both motors are being overloaded, is found in Page 4.2.6 "Run information" (Service/run information; see image below).

There are 3 thresholds which determine the behaviour of the robot.

  • 21 Amp: The driving speed is reduced to keep the consumption of the single motors within the technical specifications
  • 25 Amp: If the "Auto load control" option is ON (Page 4.1.3 "Propulsion run and settings" - Settings/Run settings), the hitch will be gradually raised to reduce the load on the motors

  •  27 Amp: the motor is overloaded and the robot stops the autonomous operation

CAUTION 🤓👇

The "Auto load control" option is best suited for weeding operations.

Running with this option ON during seeding may influence the depth of the seeds, in case the motors reach 25A of consumption
