Quick guide - Base Station: Location Requirements
It is crucial to set up your base station in the right location. Follow these key requirements and tips to achieve reliable performance.
Location Requirements:
-
Clear sky view: No obstacles within 30° above the antenna; mount high above ridges, trees, or silos. Avoid chimneys due to smoke interference.
-
Stable, immovable anchoring point: Use a solid surface unaffected by wind or weather; avoid masts, chimneys, or towers.
-
Sufficient distance from solar panels: Prevent reflected signals from disturbing satellite communication and reducing accuracy.
-
Sufficient distance from metal roofs: Metal surfaces reflect satellite signals. If unavoidable, place the antenna on the highest point.
-
Adequate GSM signal strength: Test internet speed with a smartphone app; above 1 Mbps is sufficient, below requires troubleshooting.
Additional Tips:
-
Keep the Base Station within 10 km of the operating field.
-
Secure the GNSS antenna bracket firmly and document its location with photos for easy repositioning.
-
Avoid bending or kinking the antenna cable during installation.
-
Connect to power using the provided 230 V plug; protect against weather and electrical hazards.
-
Install the Base Station indoors or in a sheltered area, with all connections facing downward for weather protection.
