Seed Valve Replacement Kit: how to install

Introduction - Procedure

Below in this article are the steps the user must follow to replace the desired item:
BEFORE STARTING

Suggested tools:
-8 mm wrench
-Phillips screwdriver
-Seed valve replacement kit (Part N. 109010011R00)


 


PROCEDURE


STEP 1

raise the hitch and to remove the seed container, by releasing the side clamps, to to make it easier to reach the working area

 

STEP 2

Press the robot stop button to work safely

WARNING ⚠️

Not triggering the safety button may result in getting in contact with live-electricity components

 

STEP 3

If the seed pressure wheel is equipped with weights, remove them

STEP 4
Remove the semi-clear tube
from the valve socket (yellow arrow), then using an 8 mm wrench, unscrew the two bolts securing seed valve assembly in place (green arrows)

STEP 5
Lift the rear pressure wheel off the trailer and carefully remove the seed valve assembly from the seed coulter console.

Pay attention to the cables still attached to the seed valve assembly!




STEP 6
Remove these screws from the seed valve assembly (see images):

  • One on the top
  • Two on the side
  • Two on the bottom

Then, lift off the cover.



STEP 7
Carefully remove the old seed valve kit, which includes:

  • Solenoid and its bracket - use the screwdriver to release the valve spring and disconnect the solenoid from the power cables
  • Seed valve spade




STEP 8
Carefully insert the new kit, as found in the package, in the seed valve assembly by sliding it in diagonally from the top.

Make sure the spade is facing with the flat part towards the bottom (see image)



STEP 9
Reconnect the solenoid wires to the power.

Connect the wires of the new solenoid to the main power source of the active trailer in the following configuration.





STEP 9
Put the mammoths back into the seed valve assembly and reassemble the entire part, making sure to use the right screws and place the cover in the correct position.


STEP 10
Reassemble the seeding valve unit into the active trailer, making sure that all components have returned to their original positions.
