UPG16 V2.0-2.4: SEEDING AND WEEDING CONVERSION BRACKET

A step-by-step instructions guide to use seeding and weeding conversion bracket.

UPG16 features a bracket that allows operators to quickly and accurately switch the robot between seeding and weeding modes. This solution is especially valuable for robots with unique mechanical configurations, where the standard SOW and WEED frame markings may not be applicable.

The kit contains the following components:

  • 2 x 109012110 Special Configuration plate
  • 4 x AP200105R01 Tube Clamp
  • 8 x Nuts

STEP 1: Move Tool Beam to Correct SEEDING Marking

Align the tool beam precisely with the engraved line that matches the required row spacing. Verify the alignment for both tool beams.

The bracket mounted behind the actuator acts as a reliable reference point for precise SEEDING and WEEDING positions. The following images demonstrate this on the RIGHT side of the robot (image 3) and the LEFT side of the robot (image 4).

STEP 2: Install Conversion Bracket

Position the correct SOW face of the conversion bracket securely against the inside of the tool beam’s vertical bracket while in the seeding position. Ensure all nuts are tightened firmly. For added security, you may apply thread glue to help prevent loosening over time. Install the bracket on both the LEFT and RIGHT tool beams.

The bracket includes two distinct markings. To identify the correct SOW face, please refer to the guidelines below:

  • SOW 112.5 MM and WEED 112.5 MM - to be used for a row spacing of 450 mm (see image 5)
  • SOW 125 MM and WEED 125 MM - to be used for all other robot mechanical configurations, unless otherwise specified in the configuration sheet (see image 6)

 STEP 3: Convert from Seeding to Weeding

To switch from seeding to weeding, please refer to the standard process detailed in the following two articles:

With the conversion bracket in place, there’s no need to align the tool beam with the SOW or WEED markings manually. Instead, simply slide the tool beam until the conversion bracket reaches its stop. The images below illustrate this process:
