The SmartSolar Charger regulates the flow of energy coming from the solar panels towards the batteries.
It is therefore very important to keep it updated to the latest version, in order to extend the working-life of the battery pack of your FD20
Step by step guide
STEP 1
Start by downloading the VictronConnect app clicking on this link
STEP 2
Turn on the Bluetooth on your smartphone and stand close to your droid
STEP 3
Open VictronConnect App on your smartphone
STEP 4
The app will show you:
- 2 chargers - for droids model year 2020 and 2021
- 1 charger - for droids model year 2022 onwards
In the case of a 2020 or 2021 droid, you must update both controllers separately.
STEP 5
Click on one of the controller, if you have a 2020 or 2021 droid model, or on the only one displayed for droid models from 2022 onwards.
STEP 6
The App is now connecting to the Solar Charge Controller
STEP 7
Once the App has connected to the controller, digit the standard password "000000" (six times zeros)
STEP 8
Chose whether you want to change the password or not
STEP 9
Press on the gear icon on the top-right corner of the App
STEP 10
Press on the "Update" icon
STEP 11
The app will now display the Current and the New firmware versions of the SmartSolar Charger.
Make sure to read the notes in the lower part of the screen, then tap the "UPDATE" icon.
STEP 12
The App will now update the firmware.
Please read the notes in the bottom part of the screen.
STEP 13
The SmartSolar Charger is now updated.
If you have a droid model year 2020 or 2021, please go back to STEP 5 in order to update the second and last SmartSolar Charger.
